Edit video from Claude Code.

void runs an MCP server on your Mac. Add it to Claude Code with one command, and Claude can open a space, ask void for an edit, wait for it, scrub to a frame and look at the result.

~/videos
$

The command and the tools are real. The session is an example.

Eight tools, on your own machine.

The server listens on 127.0.0.1:7457, so it answers only on your Mac. Claude drives the same app you would, and void does the rendering on your GPU. Nothing is uploaded to render.

Any MCP client that speaks streamable HTTP can use it. Turn it off with RAEA_VOID_MCP_PORT=0.

Questions

Can Claude Code edit video?
Yes, through void. Claude Code sends void a request over MCP, void's own agent writes the edit as code and renders it on your Mac, and Claude can then scrub to any frame and take a screenshot to check the result.
How do I add void to Claude Code?
With void running, run: claude mcp add --transport http void http://127.0.0.1:7457/mcp. Claude Code then lists void's eight tools.
Does anything render in the cloud?
No. void renders on your Mac's GPU, and its MCP server only listens on your own machine.
Is there a video editing MCP server for other clients?
void's server speaks MCP over streamable HTTP, so any client that supports HTTP MCP servers can connect to it the same way.
Can I use void now?
void is opening in small batches. Leave your email below and you'll get an invite when your batch opens.

What would you make first?

Tell void, and leave your email. Early access opens in small batches, and we'll write when yours is ready.
